The Bureau of Counterterrorism and Countering Violent Extremism s mission is to promote U.S. national security by taking a leading role in developing coordinated strategies and approaches to defeat terrorism abroad and securing the counterterrorism cooperation of international partners.

The Global Counterterrorism Forum
An informal, multilateral counterterrorism platform with 30 founding members that promotes a strategic, long-term approach to dealing with the CT threat. The Forum identifies urgent needs, devises solutions, and mobilizes resources to address key civilian counterterrorism challenges. The Forum was launched in September 2011.
