Our school nurses are here to help families understand what vaccinations are required for school. We also want to make sure families have accurate information about vaccines and Measles.
As members of our school community, we invite you to share accurate information.
What is required? Students in Minnesota are required to have two doses of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine before starting school.
Why is this important? Minnesota is currently experiencing a measles outbreak and we need your help to ensure the health of your student and others. Getting vaccinated helps protect the entire community.
We re here to help! We re sure you have lots of questions. Please call your school nurse or your child s health provider for accurate information
Like many in our community, we in 287 are overwhelmed with sadness and disbelief. The recent mass shooting in Las Vegas killed over 50 people and left hundreds of others injured. While details are still surfacing, we know that a tragedy like this has a profound impact on our country, communities, and our students. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and all who were injured.
287 will keep their eyes and ears open for students who need support during this time. Our educators, school counselors, and school psychologists are on standby to support all students, especially those whose past experiences may make them even more vulnerable during this time.
We also want to share two resources with you that give guidance to educators and parents on how to speak to children about mass violence. Click here for resources.

I want to reiterate that our schools remain a safe haven for our students and families. It is not the role of 287 as an educational organization to ask about the citizenship or immigration status of students or families. Read more: http://bit.ly/287DACA
