Licensed Educational Psychologists (LEP)
STATEMENT REGARDING PRIMARY SOURCE DATA ON THE BOARD OF BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES WEB SITE
The California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) has an intradepartmental contract with the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) to provide the license lookup Web site and the actual operation thereof. The license lookup Web site is the property of DCA and system security concerns are ultimately their responsibility. The information that the BBS provides to DCA is a true and accurate reflection of our license records that are derived from primary source documents. We are informed that while the Department believes the information to be reliable, human or mechanical error remains a possibility, as does delay in the posting or updating of information. Accordingly, DCA’s license lookup reflects the BBS’ primary source information. The license lookup information is updated on a daily basis; therefore the information is current as to the date indicated on the site.
Your organization is responsible for any decision it may make based on our Web site information. However, it is our intent to provide accurate licensee information and to allow users the ability to verify licenses.
License Status Information
Our License Status Definitions provide a description of the various license status’ a licensee or registrant may hold.
If the license or registration verified has any pending or final disciplinary actions, the information will be included. The Board posts official documentation on citations, accusations, and disciplinary actions.
Disciplinary actions taken by the Board become operative on the effective date except in situations where the licensee obtains a court-ordered stay. This may occur after the publication of the information in this website.
For updated information on stay orders and appeals, or for further information on specific discipline for a person listed, you may contact the Board’s Enforcement Unit at (916) 574-7890.
